About the Role

RCK Partners is a leading consultancy specializing in innovation funding and tax relief. As a market-leading provider, we have established a strong presence in the industry, with recognition from prominent figures such as former Chancellor of the Exchequer, Lord Philip Hammond, who sits on our board of advisors. Our team of over 90 professionals is based in the City of London, occupying two floors of Forum House.

We are seeking a skilled Business Rates Surveyor to join our team, with a focus on client management across the midlands and the north. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of rating legislation and case law, as well as experience in providing rating advice and negotiating appeals. The role will involve managing a client portfolio, developing business relationships, and assisting clients throughout the development cycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored rates appeal and mitigation advice to major clients across various sectors within commercial real-estate
  • Manage a client portfolio, built from new business won by our in-house business development team
  • Develop strong business relationships with clients, including developers and landlords
  • Assist clients throughout the development cycle, including deletion/RV appeals, completion notices, and mitigation strategies
  • Prepare documents for tribunal cases
Requirements
  • 2+ years' experience in Business Rates surveying
  • Knowledge and understanding of rating legislation and case law
  • Proven experience in providing rating advice and negotiating appeals
  • Solid general surveying and inspection skills
  • MRICS qualification is desirable, but not essential
