About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rating Partner to join our team at Cluttons, a leading property consultancy. As a key member of our Rating team, you will provide expert rating advice to a diverse range of clients, including landlords, occupiers, investors, and developers.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with clients to provide bespoke appeal and mitigation advice across a broad spectrum of properties.
- Manage and grow your own client base, developing excellent business relationships with new and existing clients.
- Provide rating advice to occupier, developer, and landlord clients throughout the property cycle, including challenging assessments through the CCA process, advising on empty rates, payments, and other areas.
- Work with a wide range of clients to provide bespoke appeal and mitigation advice across a broad spectrum of properties.
- Integrate fully into the wider business network, developing relationships with key service lines, including Agency, Investment, and Development, to promote the team and leverage opportunities.
Requirements
- MRICS qualified with proven Rating experience.
- Experience in providing rating advice and negotiating appeals.
- Detailed knowledge of rating legislation and case law.
- Good general surveying and inspection skills.
- Competent and experienced in appearing in both the Valuation Tribunal and (preferably) Upper Tribunal arenas.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Commercially astute with an entrepreneurial attitude to business development.
- Ability to work autonomously and coordinate tasks efficiently to ensure deadlines are met.
- Accurate and exceptional attention to detail.
- Pro-active and enjoys working autonomously and as part of a wider team.
- Confident and assertive where required.
- Flexible approach to work.
- Team player who works effectively with colleagues and clients.
- Good IT skills (Word, Excel, MS Outlook) familiarity with Rating software.
