Job Title: Prince's Trust Team Leader

Job Summary:

The Prince's Trust Team Leader will be responsible for leading and motivating a team of young people through the GMFRS-led personal development course, acting as a role model at all times. The successful candidate will implement effective recruitment strategies to attract unemployed team members from the local community, reducing levels of worklessness for the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate a team of young people through the GMFRS-led personal development course
  • Implement effective recruitment strategies to attract unemployed team members from the local community
  • Understand and be familiar with the Princes Trust Team Toolkit, Team-partners webpage, and Team Leader Guidelines to influence the delivery of the Team programme
  • Help plan and deliver the Team 12-week personal development programme in line with the Team programme Toolkit requirements
  • Ensure the appropriate use of policy and procedures within delivery
  • Support delivery of qualifications and accredited outcomes in line with required Standards
  • Plan and carry out regular individual and team reviews incorporating the development of individual learning plans
  • Support the Annual Quality reviews and contribute as required
  • Responsible for completion of relevant paperwork to the required standard, timescales, and deadlines set
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of partnerships with local employers
  • Support Team member progression into a positive outcome of employment, education, training, and volunteering and evidence outcomes as appropriate
  • Undertake key tasks to support delivery of GMFRS-led personal development programmes as identified by the Team Manager
  • To deputise for the Team Manager in their absence
  • Contribution to delivery of intervention initiative/programmes within the borough/clusters
  • Utilise and maintain equipment and team resources
  • Practise and promote health, safety, and welfare of participants
  • Promote the good name of the Princes Trust and the Delivery Partner organisation at all times

Requirements:

  • Good level of numeracy and literacy
  • Possession of PTTLS, CTTLS, DTTLS, or equivalent Youth work qualification (or a willingness to study for this level of qualification if appointed)
  • D1 Category (Minibus) licence (desirable)
  • Food Hygiene Certificate (desirable)
  • First Aid Certificate (desirable)
  • Experience of partnership working within the local community
  • Effective time management skills, including the ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload
  • Organisational and administration skills and self-motivation
  • Experience of working with a range of young people in a variety of settings
  • Experience of managing health and safety, including risk assessments
  • Knowledge of Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (desirable)
  • Knowledge of The Princes Trust Team Programme (desirable)
  • Awareness of the issues affecting Children and Young People (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Portfolio-based learning (desirable)
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel) (desirable)
  • Experience of partnership working within the local community (desirable)
  • Experience of Safeguarding processes and issues (desirable)
