About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Specialist to join our team at SeeAbility. As a Complex Needs Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver daily activities such as personal care, laundry, meal preparation, medication administration, and daily living skills.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the people we support, helping them to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives.
  • Take ownership of the quality of care and assistance provided, ensuring that it meets the highest standards.
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of the people we support, identifying and mitigating risks to their health and well-being.
  • Manage challenging behaviors and trauma in a calm and non-judgmental manner, using evidence-based approaches to support individuals with complex needs.
  • Help individuals plan and achieve short- and long-term goals, including education, employment, and social engagement.
  • Assist with personal affairs, including appointments, finances, and benefits.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure that the needs of the people we support are met, and that our services are delivered in a person-centered and responsive way.
Requirements
  • Experience of working with individuals with complex mental health needs, including those with challenging behaviors and trauma.
  • Knowledge of mental health theories, models, and interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and trauma-informed care.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing competing demands.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with individuals, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
  • Valid UK driving license (desirable).
