About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Worker to join our team at SeeAbility. As a Complex Mental Health Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with complex health needs to live a more fulfilled life and become more independent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct and practical support to individuals with complex mental health needs, including daily activities such as personal care, laundry, meal preparation, and medication administration.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the people we support, helping them to achieve their goals and live the life they want.
  • Take personal responsibility for the quality of care and assistance delivered to the people we support, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of the people we support, identifying and reporting any concerns or risks.
  • Manage challenging behaviors and trauma in a calm and non-judgmental manner, providing a person-centered approach to support.
  • Assist individuals to plan and achieve short- and long-term goals, including vacations, learning, and social engagements.
  • Administer medication as required and act as an advocate for the people we support.
  • Contribute to team meetings and forums, sharing knowledge and expertise to improve the quality of care.

Requirements

  • Experience of working with individuals with complex mental health needs, including behaviors that challenge and trauma.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with individuals, families, and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies, including the Mental Health Act and the Care Act.
  • Ability to work in a person-centered approach, prioritizing the needs and preferences of the people we support.
