Employment Specialist - Mental Health Support

We are seeking an Employment Specialist to join our team at Waythrough, a national group of charities providing specialist support services to individuals and families living with the effects of mental ill health, drug and alcohol use, gambling, and domestic violence.

Your challenge will be to help individuals with mental health problems find paid employment and retain their employment when struggling due to mental health. You will also advise and support employers about mental health in the workplace.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting individuals with mental health problems to source work experience placements with local organisations/employers
  • Offering careers advice and guidance to help individuals set their own recovery and employment-focused goals
  • Providing training in personal and skills development, such as CV preparation and interview techniques
  • Establishing and maintaining positive links with community mental health teams
  • Maintaining efficient admin systems to ensure referrals, assessments, and reviews are completed in a timely manner

Requirements include:

  • Excellent motivational, presentation, and listening skills
  • A willingness to travel in the local area and work outside of office hours as required
  • A good understanding of mental health problems and the issues and barriers they create for clients

This is a permanent full-time role requiring the post holder to work 37.5 hours per week. We are committed to increasing our diversity and welcome applications from those with lived experience.
