Special Needs Primary Teacher
Academics is seeking a dedicated and skilled Special Needs Primary Teacher to join a remarkable educational institution focused on supporting students with special educational needs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for guiding a small cohort of students in year 5/6 who require tailored educational approaches. Experience in phonics instruction is essential, as the class consists of approximately 4 to 5 children, supported by teaching assistants.
This role is situated within a specialist day school catering to young individuals with autism spectrum conditions (ASC) and related complex needs, providing education for learners aged 5 to 19 years.
This is a full-time, ongoing position with potential for permanent placement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Primary SEN Teacher, ideally within a special needs environment.
  • Proficient in planning and delivering primary-level lessons.
  • Design, implement, and assess individualized educational programs that highlight each pupil's strengths, interests, and learning objectives, utilizing diverse teaching methodologies.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow educators and support staff to ensure the educational, social, and emotional needs of students are met, maintaining open communication regarding each pupil's progress and challenges.
