Job Overview
As a Caseworker Support Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to handle National Security Vetting applications during the advanced research phase. You will employ various tools to investigate and evaluate adverse information, pinpointing essential details and clearly articulating your assessments. Timely delivery of preliminary evaluations will be a key aspect of your role.
This position will often require you to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions while recognizing issues that necessitate escalation. You will frequently engage with stakeholders across Government, addressing inquiries efficiently and effectively.
Role Responsibilities
The department is consistently seeking methods to enhance and adapt operational processes. The successful candidate must be adaptable to new circumstances and actively contribute to improvements whenever feasible. You should be capable of managing a demanding workload while comprehending and adhering to policies, procedures, and regulations. There may also be responsibilities related to Line Management.
Comprehensive training will be provided.
Security Clearance Requirement
This position necessitates Developed Vetting Clearance, which may involve a lengthy process.
Candidate Profile
We are in search of individuals who possess the following skills and attributes:
- Ability to operate in a confidential setting while managing national security vetting matters.
- Capability to work in an office environment, as remote work is not an option for this role.
- Demonstrated strong judgment, assessment, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in drafting concise summaries and recommendations.
- Experience in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with both internal and external partners.
- A background in research or analysis is advantageous but not mandatory.
Please note that candidates who do not meet the required standards for this position but are considered 'near misses' may be offered a role at the AO level within the team.
Additional Information
At least 60% of your working hours should be spent at your primary workplace. Attendance at other locations for official duties will also contribute to this requirement.

In addition to a salary of £32,000, the Cabinet Office contributes £8,640 towards your membership in the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme. Other benefits include:
