Head of Data Governance

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to lead our Data Governance function at Barclays. As Head of Data Governance, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective governance frameworks for all data and records across our global operations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Maintain Governance Frameworks
Design and implement comprehensive data and records governance frameworks aligned with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Monitor Data Quality and Records MetricsTrack and analyze data quality and records metrics to ensure compliance with standards across the organization.
Identify and Address Risks and GapsIdentify and address data and records management risks and gaps, ensuring the proper identification, classification, storage, retention, retrieval, and disposal of records.
Develop and Implement Data Governance StrategyDevelop and implement a data governance strategy that aligns with Barclays' overall data management strategy and business objectives.
Provide Guidance and TrainingProvide group-wide guidance and training on data and records management standard requirements.
Director Expectations- Provide Expert Advice
Offer expert advice to senior functional management and committees to influence decisions made outside of your function, providing significant input to function-wide strategic initiatives.
Manage and Coordinate ResourcesManage, coordinate, and enable resourcing, budgeting, and policy creation for a significant sub-function.
Escalate BreachesEscalate breaches of policies/procedures appropriately.
Foster ComplianceFoster and guide compliance, ensuring regulations are observed and relevant processes are in place to facilitate adherence.
Monitor External EnvironmentFocus on the external environment, regulators, or advocacy groups to both monitor and influence on behalf of Barclays when appropriate.
Demonstrate ExpertiseDemonstrate extensive knowledge of how the function integrates with the business division/group to achieve overall business objectives.
Use Analytical SkillsUse interpretative thinking and advanced analytical skills to solve problems and design solutions in often complex/sensitive situations.
Exercise Management AuthorityExercise management authority to make significant decisions and certain strategic decisions or recommendations within your area.
Negotiate with StakeholdersNegotiate with and influence stakeholders at a senior level both internally and externally.
Act as SpokespersonAct as principal contact point for key clients and counterparts in other functions/business divisions.
