Role of the Territory Sales Executive

Reporting to the Commercial Manager for the European Region / General Manager for the UK, the Territory Sales Executive will be responsible for nurturing Abbott's Point of Care relationships with key stakeholders within the designated territory. This role entails the commercial responsibility of implementing a strategic business plan aimed at achieving and surpassing the financial objectives set by the Country Management. The individual will oversee the execution of these strategic initiatives.

Throughout the sales cycle, the Territory Sales Executive will operate within budgetary constraints to optimize product utilization and secure new accounts in alignment with the regional marketing strategy. Collaboration with Area Marketing will be essential to effectively introduce new products and extensions to targeted accounts.

Following the sale, the Territory Sales Executive will partner closely with the Implementation team to ensure seamless installation and maximize product utilization.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Extensive experience in healthcare sales, particularly in Medical Products, Medical Devices, In Vitro Diagnostics, Disposables, and Cardiovascular operating environments.
  • A proven track record of progressively senior sales roles within the healthcare sector.
  • Experience in managing multi-stakeholder strategic sales processes.
  • A degree-level education or substantial relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and manage the Point of Care relationships with all stakeholders in the assigned territory.
  • Direct the strategic sales process, engaging team members as necessary.
  • Provide timely and effective communication to customers, Alliance Partner personnel, and Abbott management.
  • Maintain an up-to-date local customer database and customer relationship management system.
  • Manage pricing within established limits and offer insights on competitive products and market pricing.
  • Stay informed about relevant healthcare markets and current product offerings.
  • Deliver post-sales support and installation assistance as required in the territory.

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to engage healthcare professionals in discussions about product benefits and usage.
  • Willingness and ability to travel across the UK and Ireland, as well as internationally when necessary.
  • Capacity to collaborate with local peers to contribute to regional strategy development.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable in both individual and group settings, including high-level negotiations.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare services within the territory.
  • Proficient in PC usage and familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Competency in the local language and a strong command of written and spoken English.

Decision-Making Authority:

For any matters outside the scope of standard responsibilities, approval from the immediate supervisor is required.
