About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the University of Plymouth as a Governance and Secretariat Manager, working closely with the Board of Governors and the University's Executive team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality secretariat services to the Board and its committees, supporting the Chair to effectively manage the Board's annual cycle of business.
  • Ensure the efficient running of all Board and committee meetings, including the production of accurate and timely minutes.
  • Review and monitor internal governance processes and procedures, carrying out routine periodic reviews of key documentation.
  • Contribute to the development of the University's governance framework and practices, making recommendations and implementing change.
  • Support compliance with statutory and regulatory duties related to higher education governance.
  • Manage the operational workflow of the governance team and line manage the Board Administrator.
  • Devise and deliver governor induction processes and training, run annual student governor training, and support the planning and running of the bi-annual Board and University Executive Group Away Days.
