Position Overview: As the Governance Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Board of Governors and the Executive leadership team of the University. Your primary focus will be to ensure the smooth functioning of the governance framework and the effective delivery of secretariat services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive secretariat support to the Board and its committees, facilitating the Chair in managing the Board's annual business cycle.
- Ensure the efficient organization of Board and committee meetings, including the preparation of precise and timely minutes.
- Review and oversee internal governance processes, conducting regular assessments of essential documents such as University Byelaws and the Schedule of Delegation.
- Contribute to the enhancement of the governance framework by identifying best practices and fostering external relationships to expand your governance knowledge.
- Support compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations related to higher education governance, particularly concerning the Board's responsibilities.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration between Board members and the Executive Group, utilizing your exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Manage the governance team's operational workflow and supervise the Board Administrator.
- Design and implement induction processes and training for governors, as well as coordinate annual training for student governors.
- Assist in planning and executing bi-annual Board and Executive Group Away Days.
