About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Governance Framework Manager to join our team at Plymouth University. As a key member of our Governance and Compliance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective operation of our governance framework and the delivery of our secretariat function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality secretariat support to the Board and its committees, including the production of accurate and timely minutes.
  • Review and monitor internal governance processes and procedures, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
  • Contribute to the development of our governance framework and practices, staying up-to-date with sector best practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Support compliance with statutory and regulatory duties related to higher education governance, including obligations to the Office for Students.
  • Manage the operational workflow of the governance team and line-manage the Board Administrator.
  • Devise and deliver governor induction processes and training, and support the planning and running of the bi-annual Board and University Executive Group Away Days.
Requirements
  • Proven experience of working in a governance or secretariat role, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with Board members and University Executive Group.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience of providing support and advice to senior teams, ideally including experience of working with Boards.
