Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic individual to join our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) team as a Learning Support Assistant. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about education and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual or small group support to pupils in class, focusing on social, emotional, or academic targets.
  • Deliver intervention programs to individual pupils or small groups, promoting academic progress and well-being.
  • Support the setting and reviewing of targets, as well as updating pupil passports, to ensure effective tracking of progress.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, using initiative and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of pupils and their families, with a commitment to safeguarding and promoting their welfare.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with pupils, teachers, and other support staff.

Working Hours and Arrangements:

The successful candidate will work 32.5 hours, spread evenly over 5 days, with some after-school time on Mondays for professional development. We also consider applications from candidates who wish to job share or work reduced hours.
