Job Title: SEMH Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a passionate and experienced SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a Secondary and Post-16 SEND school in Cramlington, Northumberland.

About the Role:

This is a full-time, long-term position from September onwards, with the possibility of a permanent vacancy for the right candidate. As a SEMH Learning Support Assistant, you will work with pupils with SEND, including SEMH, Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language Difficulties, and Attachment and Trauma.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support pupils with SEND in Key Stage 3 and 4 classes
  • Work with a small group of pupils on a daily basis
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning and delivery
  • Provide individualized support to pupils with SEMH needs
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and implement strategies to support pupils with SEND
Requirements:
  • Experience working with primary or secondary school-aged children
  • Experience working with pupils with SEND
  • Passion for the progress of SEND secondary school pupils
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to deal with fast-paced situations
