We are seeking a Finance Operations Supervisor on behalf of our client in the educational sector.
This permanent position requires a candidate with robust leadership capabilities, financial management experience, and the capacity to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Experience within an educational finance department is advantageous.
Role Overview: The primary objective of this position is to assist the Treasury and Commercial Manager by overseeing a team of two treasury analysts, ensuring the prompt execution of daily, weekly, and monthly financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise treasury analysts, manage the team inbox, and conduct team meetings.
- Lead by example and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Establish and oversee team goals, create training resources, and ensure cross-training among team members.
- Enhance cash management and treasury policies.
- Serve as the primary liaison for Accounts Payable/Receivable and banking partners.
- Oversee banking operations and money market platforms.
- Prepare and oversee bank reconciliations and month-end closing activities.
- Calculate and post monthly interest accruals and assist with bond interest disbursements.
- Gather and verify data for external reporting and financial disclosures.
- Generate weekly cash flow reports and ensure compliance with financial covenants.
- Provide necessary information for audits and maintain the Finance Office register.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Essential Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of financial procedures and treasury management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in a high-volume financial environment and team leadership.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Part-qualified or qualified by experience in accounting.
- Familiarity with Agresso accounting software and experience in a treasury capacity.
