Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a skilled professional to join our VAT team in London, which is dedicated to providing a diverse array of tax and consulting services to various businesses. You will serve as a vital point of contact within the firm for clients, alongside the VAT Associate Director, Director, or Partner.

Your responsibilities will include managing your own portfolio of VAT clients, collaborating with Partners and Directors on intricate consultancy and advisory projects, as well as overseeing some VAT compliance tasks.

In this role, you will deliver VAT advisory services to clients across numerous industry sectors both in the UK and internationally. You will have ample opportunities to enhance your VAT technical skills and relationship-building abilities while managing your own client portfolio and advancing your career within the firm.

As a VAT Advisory Manager, your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Cultivating and sustaining key client relationships through exceptional service;
  • Contributing to the successful execution of VAT projects, ensuring technical precision and a business-oriented approach;
  • Managing and addressing a portfolio of complex VAT advisory cases;
  • Demonstrating strong technical knowledge in VAT matters;
  • Identifying opportunities within your client portfolio;
  • Supporting VAT due diligence efforts, including assessing businesses for existing and potential tax concerns from both buy-side and sell-side perspectives;
  • Collaborating with Senior Managers to Partner levels;
  • Mentoring and developing associate-level staff through delegation and on-the-job training;
  • Working in unison with peers in the Business Tax team and across the firm to ensure a cohesive approach.

Qualifications

Essential Experience/Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of UK VAT legislation acquired through professional practice and/or industry experience;
  • Client-focused and commercially aware;
  • Proven ability to consistently deliver outstanding client service;
  • Motivated team player with a flexible mindset;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Experience engaging with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally.

Education/Qualifications:

  • Qualified (or exam-qualified) Accountant (ACA, ACCA) and/or CTA (or equivalent breadth of knowledge to CTA, law qualification).
