About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled VAT Director to join our Tax Advisory team at Teneo. As a VAT Director, you will play a key role in managing the effective delivery of indirect tax projects, ensuring technical excellence in a complex commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Manage the delivery of indirect tax projects, ensuring timely completion and technical excellence.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and develop junior team members, providing guidance and support to help them grow in their careers.
  • Client Relationships: Contribute to winning new work by building and maintaining client relationships, including internal stakeholders, with the support of the wider tax team.
  • Technical Development: Keep up to date with indirect tax legislation and practical changes, and assist in the technical development of the team.
  • Team Management: Manage team members to meet project deadlines and liaise with HMRC as required.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with indirect tax projects.
Key Skills and Experience
  • Technical Expertise: CTA qualified with excellent VAT technical and analytical skills.
  • Industry Knowledge: Broad UK VAT technical knowledge and experience.
  • Specialized Skills: Strong partial exemption, insolvency, and M&A experience is highly desirable.
  • Teamwork: A commitment to team working and collaboration.
  • Project Management: Excellent project management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Client Relationships: Ability to build strong client relationships, both internal and external.
