Position Overview

Freightserve recruitment is seeking a skilled Logistics Operations Manager to join a dynamic Freight Forwarding organization. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient management of logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

In collaboration with the Operations Manager and the Senior Logistics Manager, you will oversee the coordination of third-party storage facilities and collection partners. Your primary goal will be to facilitate the seamless movement of packages from client locations through various storage sites and into the broader logistics network.

This will involve a combination of direct communication and remote interactions, alongside effective system management and data analysis, with an emphasis on process optimization and ongoing enhancement.

  • Enhance service delivery while maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Maintain daily communication with processing facilities and utilize company systems to provide timely inbound notifications.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales to inform warehouses of new volumes or modifications to existing shipments.
  • Work alongside Finance and Commercial teams to track collection expenses.
  • Utilize Excel for trend analysis over time regarding volumes, routes, dimensions, etc.
  • Leverage data to plan and monitor linehaul operations.
  • Enhance existing reports and create new ones for stakeholder distribution.
  • Coordinate with collection partners to ensure effective material flow to hubs.
  • Request quotes for new collections, maintain an updated collection log, and develop routes to optimize costs.
  • Notify hubs of incoming returns and assist with sorting and consolidation, arranging for repatriation as needed.
  • Oversee transport fleet and manage drivers.
Qualifications
  • Experience in freight forwarding is essential.
  • Possession of a full UK driving licence.
  • Experience in route planning is preferred.
  • Standard working hours are Monday to Friday.
