Heathrow Personnel is seeking an experienced Freight and Logistics Operations Assistant to join their busy team. As an Operations Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the company's logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Taking bookings from clients: You will be responsible for receiving and processing client bookings, ensuring that all necessary information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Arranging collections and deliveries: You will coordinate with transport providers to arrange collections and deliveries, ensuring that goods are delivered on time and in good condition.
  • Tracking movements of goods: You will be responsible for monitoring the movement of goods, ensuring that they are delivered to the correct location and that any issues are resolved promptly.
  • Ensuring compliance with transport regulations and standards: You will ensure that all logistics operations are conducted in accordance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Preparing reports and maintaining transport records: You will be responsible for preparing reports and maintaining accurate records of all logistics operations.
  • Liaising with transport and operations teams: You will work closely with transport and operations teams to ensure that all logistics operations are running smoothly.
  • Resolving client issues: You will be responsible for resolving any issues that may arise with clients, ensuring that their needs are met and that they are satisfied with the service provided.
  • General administration: You will perform general administrative tasks, such as data entry and filing, to support the smooth operation of the logistics team.

Requirements:

  • Previous freight/logistics/transport experience: You will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a freight/logistics/transport role.
  • 5-year checkable history/clean DBS check: You will have a clean DBS check and a 5-year checkable history.
  • Good customer service skills: You will have excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Flexible with regards to shift work: You will be flexible with regards to shift work, including working weekends and evenings as required.
  • PC literate: You will be proficient in the use of PC software, including Microsoft Office.
