About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Application Specialist to join our team at ESSRecruit. As a key member of our Sales team, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support and guidance to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain technical proposals for customers, ensuring high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Provide front-end technical support, responding to customer inquiries and resolving technical issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to select the most suitable products for customer applications, ensuring commercial viability and technical feasibility.
  • Assist in the creation of design documentation, including 3D CAD models and project technical files, to ensure high-quality and accurate records.
  • Liaise with suppliers, Sales team, and engineering departments to facilitate the design and development of new technologies and products.
  • Offer troubleshooting and problem-solving services to internal departments and customers, providing effective solutions to technical queries.
  • Prepare detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of components for proposal, purchase, or manufacture, as instructed by supervisors or the Sales team.
  • Meet tight deadlines and adhere to work instructions, ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all tasks.
  • Stay up-to-date with current good engineering practice for component manufacture and incorporate these into daily tasks.
  • Provide technical information and assistance to other departments within the company, as required.
Requirements
  • Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Relevant post-qualification experience in a design environment, with specific experience in designing mechanical components.
  • Ability to work accurately and within designated timescales.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with a flexible approach to work.
  • Experience with SolidWorks 3D CAD in a mechanical design environment.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCad and MathCad software packages is advantageous.
  • Some knowledge of Jacking systems and Power Transmission components is beneficial, although training will be provided.
