We are seeking a highly motivated, registered Allied Health Professional to lead a project around the governance of advanced level practice across allied health professions (AHPs) at NUH.

This project fellow role aims to create consistency across the AHPs in advanced practice roles, understanding our current advanced practice workforce and making progress against the Health Education England Advanced Practice Maturity Matrix.

The post-holder will work closely with the Associate Chief AHP (Workforce) and the Trust Lead for Advanced Practice, as well as a range of experts from across the organisation, and externally, to ensure successful delivery of the programme.

The fellowship provides opportunity for the post holder to liaise with colleagues across the Trust, Integrated Care System and wider national context. The fellowship will enable a wealth of opportunities for shared learning and personal, professional and leadership development. They will have opportunity to receive mentoring and a bespoke personal development plan to support their career development

Main duties of the job

Through a strategic cross-divisional approach, the Project Fellow will undertake work to address the following challenges:
Inconsistencies in the advanced practice role, titles, responsibilities and banding across AHPs

Variation in advanced practice role development, education, career pathways and access to the pillars of practice

Understanding of enhanced to consultant level practice in relation to the AHP advanced practice workforce planning, governance and assurance pathways

Lack of an AHP advanced practice voice from ward to board

Identifying imminent advanced practice workforce concerns

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The project role will provide a number of functions including managing aspects of the NUH AHP advanced practice work stream to ensure quality, time and benefits realisation are controlled and achieved.

The post holder will be required to have exceptional relationship building and communication skills in order to work with a range of stakeholders locally, regionally and nationally. Undertaking this role will be both rewarding and challenging and will require excellent facilitation skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work effectively with a range of teams in a variety of settings.

The fellowship will be for a period of 6 months, for 15 hours a week. The post holder will be based at QMC, with scope to work remotely for some of the time. There will also be the expectation that they will travel cross-site for meetings, as required.

Key responsibilities will include:

- To provide programme management expertise using appropriate programme management methodology and appropriate national guidance of management of programmes.
- Responsible for ensuring appropriate programme, project and work-stream documentation is developed and maintained ensuring that timescales and objectives are met and that where there are concerns, escalation and resolution plans are in place in a timely manner. This will include Project Initiation Documents, Project Briefs, Programme and Project Plans, Risk Registers, Issue Logs and Highlight Reports.
