NUH Therapy Services are pleased to advertise the opportunity of a 12 month secondment/fixed term contract for an Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapist (Band 7) to work within our Specialist Neuro Out-Patient Service.

This role involves working across both QMC and Nottingham City Hospital campuses, seeing patients with a range of neurological diagnoses, including acquired brain injury and long term neurological conditions. The role will be responsible for delivering a high standard of neuro specialist assessment, treatment and management to this patient group.

Main duties of the job

You will possess strong clinical knowledge and experience of working with clients with acquired brain injury and long term neurological conditions including Multiple Sclerosis. You will be able to work autonomously as the therapist leading input into MS clinic. You will facilitate both individual and group therapy interventions within your out-patient caseload.

You will be involved in reviewing the model of service delivery and in evaluating the impact of any change. You will be supported by a Clinical Lead Physiotherapist and Therapy Service Manager. There is also support available from our Practice Development team who offer a Band 7 development programme to support your ongoing professional development.

You will be able to work flexibly and take part in working rostered weekend duties.

The Specialist Neuro Outpatient service is part of the Therapies and Rehabilitation Services pathway, which is one of the pathways within the Clinical Support Division at NUH. We are a diverse pathway of AHPs and support staff, employing over 600 staff, who work together to deliver the high quality care we aspire to. Our HCPC registered AHP professionals comprise of physiotherapists, dietitians, occupational therapists, orthotists, prosthetists and speech and language therapists.

We have a Chief AHP to lead us on our strategic direction, and many of the pathway leadership team have pathway AHP backgrounds to support our staff. There are also Practice Development Therapists to support career development for all.

Provision of an effective highly specialist service in specialist neuro out
- patients, including assessment and advice/treatment

Be an expert clinical advisor and leader within out-patient neuro rehab within therapy services at NUH. This will include providing education and training, liaising across the specialty teams, with Therapy colleagues and with the wider multi-disciplinary team.

Undertake evidence based highly comprehensive assessment and treatment of patients including those with complex presentation, including conflicting social and psychological information, using investigative and analytical skills having a flexible approach to the delivery of care.

Develop evidenced based holistic treatment plans for individuals with complex needs in given clinical area enabling individuals, carers and families to contribute to the plan.
