We have an opportunity for a band 8A Physiotherapist who is keen to develop their project management skills and support NUH Therapies with an improvement project around Physiotherapy weekend working.

This is a 6 month secondment or fixed term contract to work with our clinical workforce and leadership team to redesign the Physiotherapy weekend working arrangements at NUH so they are sustainable and offer high quality services to patients and positive experience for staff. Our Physiotherapy service delivers interventions to a range of patient groups including Adults & Children within the acute setting across QMC, City campus, the treatment centre. These include both in and outpatient services.

As clinical pressures are increasing in the acute setting this is an important opportunity to review and reset the NUH Physiotherapy weekend working approach for the future and to progress key Improvement actions.

You will work alongside other Physio’s, the Therapy and Rehabilitation Operational leadership team and Therapy Services Managers to improve the provision of weekend services for patients and allocation to rosters for Physio and support staff.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work with a wide range of stakeholders internally and across the UK in the discovery, to benchmark and learn from other services. The post holder will lead on a number of specific actions designed to enable improvements in the delivery of weekend services and thus deliver better patient & staff experiences.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

Improvement and Transformation is the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts (NUH) to whole hospital continuous improvement programme. It is how we are improving quality, safety & value for money at our Hospitals and is our thoughtful response to the challenges we face.

Specifically, the post holder will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of Physiotherapy key improvement projects and programmes in relation to weekend working. This will be through both personally leading work and, supporting Team Leaders, Advanced Practitioners and Therapy Service Managers to deliver projects. The project (s) maybe Clinical or Non Clinical and cover a variety of deliverables including operational performance, financial performance, service issues, clinical quality Improvement and workforce development.

The Physio programme of work will focus on leading projects & actions that are described in the Physiotherapy Staffing and Staff Stress Risk Assessments.

The post holder will provide line management responsibilities within the team ensuring effective ways of working at all times. They will also be responsible for facilitating progress and providing practical support to the teams impacted on by the project to take forward service improvement and new ways of working.

The post holder will be able to develop positive working relationships quickly at all levels of the organisation and manage a busy workload, responding to conflicting priorities as required.

The post holder will be required to work at all NUH campuses, off site venues and flexibly as required to role. Occasionally the post holder maybe required to work outside of core hours including weekends & evenings as
