**Medical Administrator/Secretary**

Are you a committed individual, a team player with a proactive attitude looking for a new challenge?

If so; a new and exciting opportunity has arisen at Scott Road Medical Centre for a Medical Administrator/Secretary.

It is a 28hrs week with half hour lunch (unpaid) and free car parking.

You must have a strong background in administration, strong keyboard skills and efficient in IT.

**Working Life**

You'll support the work of the department by taking on administrative and secretarial tasks for example:

- Typing
- Arranging meetings and taking minutes
- Dealing with enquiries
- Taking phones calls
- You will have contact with patients and their families as well as health care staff and other admin staff

**Personal Characteristics**

As a Medical Administrator/Secretary you will need to:

- Work accurately & methodically
- Meet deadlines
- Use medical terminology
- Pay attention to detail
- Work in a team, but use their own initiative
- Work with all types of people
- Be helpful & reassuring if dealing with patients and their families

**Skills required**
- Excellent keyboard skills
- IT skills and knowledge Microsoft Office
- Good spelling and grammar
- Organisational skills

**Training & development**

You will get the training you need to do the job. This includes an introduction to the department, how to use the IT & phone equipment and the procedures to follow.

You may be offered the chance to take a medical terminology course and IT courses for the systems we use.
