Gloucester, United Kingdom EDF Limited Full time

The Head of the Nuclear Skills Alliance (NSA) has responsibility for providing support, across multiple licensees, for Organisational Capability, Construction Skills, Early Careers pipelines, and the development of nuclear technical skills and competences within EDF’s workforce. These responsibilities are executed by the Head of NSA setting the strategy and leading implementation of a multi-year portfolio of projects, programmes, and business-as-usual activities spanning Generation, TSO, HPC, SZC and their support organisations.

**The Opportunity**

The NSA is a structured collaboration between Generation and HPC, focussed on delivering technical skills and competences. More recently SZC has become part of that collaboration.

The NSA is focused on planning for technical skills and capability for construction, commissioning, operations, and defueling; ensuring the right skills are identified for all phases of the nuclear lifecycle. It brings together technical training and organisational capability, with a focus on delivering competence to support existing and new nuclear business.

Nuclear Generation and HPC jointly provide the resource, funding and infrastructure required to establish and run the NSA proportionate to the service they receive. Other organisations secure services by way of agreed Task Order.

The Head of the NSA reporting line is Nuclear Generation, whilst a joint governance structure will be established to maintain oversight of the delivery, resourcing, and funding of the alliance.

**Pay, benefits and culture**

We offer a competitive salary, bonus and pension scheme with terms and conditions covered by the EDF Nuclear Generation Personal Contract. The starting salary will be dependent on your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.

We’ll value the difference you bring and offer opportunities for you to thrive and succeed.

Travel to EDF sites and other locations will be a requirement.
- Establish and maintain arrangements for the effective oversight and support for training management systems.
- Development and training of operational staff to support the changing requirements of the existing nuclear fleet through the lifecycle of the plants, including delivery of a workforce for construction, decommissioning and deconstruction.

- Provides support to the Nuclear Sector Deal (NSD) to align NSD activity with industry demand and helps in developing target operational models for workforce delivery mechanisms.
- Manage a team of approximately 80 employees plus contractors across multiple locations.
- Operates within a complex stakeholder landscape and will be required to establish and maintain strong links with external interfaces.
