An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Commercial Team assisting with the management of a portfolio covering a number of contracts. The primary duty station for this role will be Barrow-in-Furness. We are currently seeking an entry level Commercial Assistant. This is the entry level into the Commercial function and covers assignments within General Administration, Sourcing, Sales, Contract Management, Disposals and Corporate Activities i.e. Policy, Training and Supplier Relations.

The role provides mostly working level support, operating as a supervised practitioner and can have a Commercial delegation as required up to a maximum of £0.25m, on completion of relevant training.

**Responsibilities**

This role will cover Contract Management and Purchasing with additional responsibilities including general administrative support to senior team members.

You will be working on a wide range of Commercial projects and varied activities including:

- Supporting contract management and sourcing activities including attendance at contract review meetings
- Arranging and administering tenders
- Responding to requests for information
- Arranging meetings, facilities and travel
- Administration and management of contract files and records
- Supporting audit and assurance of commercial policies and approvals
- Collating, presenting and maintenance of management information
- Support processing of purchase orders on our internal system

**Person specification**:

- Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office and ability to use IT systems and programmes
- Evidence of CIPS Level 4 /or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards this by commencing study within one year of appointment

It would also be great if you can demonstrate any of the following desirable criteria:

- Previous experience of working as part of a Team
- Minimum of Maths and English GCSE grades 4 - 9 (A* to C), or equivalent
