We are looking for a motivated individual to join the booking team to support booking elective surgery for our Gynaecology patients.

The position of theatre scheduler is a varied role in a very busy and demanding environment which will involve providing support to a number of consultant’s theatre lists.

Having responsibility for admissions bookings you will work closely with your colleagues / consultants and operational managers in maximising usage of theatre capacity and ensuring that all requirements are in place for a positive patient experience.

To be considered for this role you must have a good standard of education i.e. GCSE Maths and English or equivalent and have an awareness and understanding of wait list management. Previous experience within the NHS is highly desirable.

You will be required to use a number of systems including Surrey Safe Care (Cerner) and Evolve. Previous experience of these systems is desirable, but not essential, as training will be provided.

Ensure patients are added to the waiting list within 3 working days of a decision to admit

Ensure all patient details are up to date within Cerner to enable the patient to be contacted

Manage and organise Consultants waiting lists, identify problems, deal with them on own initiative, and strategically plan own workload.

Ensure all offers of dates are recorded in Cerner and t he appropriate RTT status is recorded in Cerner.

Participate as a team member in the smooth day to day operational management of the Booking Office.

Utilise LUNA to manage patient waiting lists, and to enable the correct booking order of patients.

Liaise directly with patients to book, cancel and reschedule any admission dates.

Use new systems within the department to promote an efficient service.

To support the department and organisation by carrying out any other duties that reasonably fit within the broad scope of a job of this grade and type of work.
