Role and Person Overview

A H Worth are looking for a dedicated finance professional with a passion for commercial and operational finance, a knack for building relationships, and a desire to contribute significantly to a dynamic organisation. Ideally suited to someone looking for a move into a newly formed Finance Business Partnering function and role, with progression and study opportunities and a wide range of exposure through the organisation.

Join our vibrant finance team as an Assistant Finance Business Partner, playing a critical role in supporting four distinct business units within a family-owned fresh produce company. This position requires a “thinking outside of the box” mindset, great attention to detail, great communication skills, the ability to manage multiple systems and advanced excel skills. You will serve as a bridge between finance and operations, driving financial efficiency and providing essential support to various business functions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Unit Support:

- Act as the finance liaison across four individual business units, fostering strong relationships and providing crucial financial guidance to Finance Business Partners.
- Own labour, haulage and packaging analysis and reporting for all business units, identifying cost out opportunities, driving alignment of process and giving insight to aid decision making.
- Work with ledger teams to own and review customer and supplier credits and claims and own review process.

2. Overhead Cost Centre Ownership:

- Take full ownership of a multi-million-pound overhead cost centre, maintaining precise tracking, reporting, and control.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and collaborate with stakeholders to optimise expenditure.
- Own and deliver actual reporting, forecasting and budgeting cycle for overheads

3. Weekly Reporting and Ad Hoc Projects:

- Provide cover for weekly reporting, ensuring timely and accurate financial information for informed decision-making.
- Support senior finance leadership on various ad hoc projects, leveraging financial expertise to drive project success.

4. Financial Analysis and Forecasting:

- Prepare and present regular financial reports, variance analysis, and performance metrics to business unit stakeholders.
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes, offering insights for continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Skills
- Studier towards professional accounting qualification (AAT/CIMA/ACCA) - Study support package
- Proven experience in finance, demonstrating a strong understanding of operational finance.
- Excellent communication skills to foster relationships and convey financial information effectively.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Proficiency in financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting
- Advanced Excel knowledge
