We have recently announced the creation of Pilgrim's Shared Services, a fourth stand-alone company, which will bring together some of the support functions of our current three businesses (Moy Park, excluding France and Netherlands, Pilgrim's UK & Pilgrim'sFood Masters). Its purpose is to deliver a high-quality shared service to those three businesses.
As the business grows, this shared service will broaden opportunities for career development as part of a far larger organisation. We will also continue our investment in technology to drive efficiencies and improved ways of working.
A dedicated Transactional Services team will be created to deliver a high-quality and cost-effective service to the Business Units. Reporting to the Head of Procurement (Directs), we are pleased to advise that we are now recruiting for a Procurement Manager
- Packaging (Maternity Cover).
The Role
- A strategically focused role with responsibility for the management of purchasing across a range of categories within the Packaging spend portfolio across the Group.
- You will lead and act as a commercial representative working in a cross-functional environment, delivering against agreed challenging targets: driving efficiencies and ensuring best total cost of acquisition while minimising risk.
- Working with the Head of Procurement to ensure best value across spend, driving change and ensuring strategic roadmaps are delivered.
- You will be responsible for reporting your category areas, delivering synergies and savings across your spend area, ensuring supplies are sourced and maintained in a sustainable manner.
Job Responsibilities
To support the Head of Procurement - Directs with the following.
- Developing the sourcing commodities strategy
- Manage SRM of your suppliers and manage the contracts of smaller suppliers.
- Maintain a supplier assessment programme and drive improvements in supplier performance.
- Develop and manage supplier contracts for major areas of spend.
- Manage the packaging area on Moy Supply, new suppliers SRF, contracts, events, tenders
- Develop Risk Management & Business Continuity Plans with key suppliers.
- Rationalise the supplier network where applicable.
- Forecast and understand major commodity price trends in your area.
- Drive to improve supplier quality and service.
- Identify cost savings through spend analysis and benchmarking/tender processes, new technology, alternative suppliers, non-traditional sources v traditional sources etc.
- Work within and lead cross-functional teams to understand and define business requirements and deliver value-adding projects.
- Working on synergy programs globally in cross-functional teams.
- Deputise for manager when required.
- Maintain SAP contracts, sourcing and pricing.
Principle Objectives
- Deliver Cost reduction/control within defined categories of expenditure
- Manage tendering and benchmarking processes (utilising e procurement) including contact negotiations.
- Develop and maintain department purchasing processes.
- Support sites on supplier issues when appropriate and identify root cause and recommend solutions for implementation
- Develop supplier improvement programmes.
What You'll Need
- At least 3 years' experience in a Procurement Department.
- Hold a driving licence and flexibile to travel as required.
- Recent experience in managing a range of suppliers and categories.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Effective communication, influencing and teamwork skills.
- Proven cost savings across a range of categories.
- Proven project management and implementation skills
- Self motivated and driven to continously improve.
- Proficient in supplier benchmarking and tender process.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office suite.
