**Job summary**:
There is an exciting opportunity to join our busy Admin team within the BRSAS team at Respiratory Medicine which is based at Heartlands Hospital. The Birmingham Regional Severe Asthma Service is a nationally commissioned service providing a highly specialist care delivery to patients across the country. We are one of the largest specialist severe asthma services in the UK treating severe and difficult to treat asthma providing precision medicine in the form of biologic injections.

BRSAS are seeking a band 3 Biologic administrator to join our enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic multi-disciplinary team. You will provide ongoing administration related to biologics and you will be a central point of contact for patient queries. You will support co-ordination of biologics and improve patient experience and reduce wait times. You will schedule patients into clinics, admit, discharge, coding and add patients to biologic waiting list. You will maintain biological databases and Dendrite. You will provide support to transition patients to homecare and co-ordinate homecare reviews. You will be required to work closely with the CNS team and support co-ordination of the CNS nursing team.

Excellent communication & IT skills will be required; as well as being well organised and patient focused. Knowledge of Oceano would be a significant advantage but is not essential, as we will provide training.

This post is part time (26.25 hours) and is a 12 month fixed term position.

**Main duties, tasks & skills required**:

- Act administrative lead for the Biologics MDT ensuring patient's notes for discussion are available to the MDT and outcomes are clearly documented post meeting
- Developing and maintaining the database with Asthma enabling surveillance of the patients with specified medical conditions and accurate drug delivery
- Collating and entering data to assist in research, audit and clinical governance projects, both local and national led
- To schedule patients into clinics identifying capacity shortfalls
- Processing patient appointments
- Admit, discharge, coding and add biological patients to waiting lists
- Enter biologics data onto Dendrite
- Producing reports from the database to monitor capacity, treatment pathways and policy compliance
- Monitoring data quality and compliance with quality assurance indicators
- Monitor the audit trail of patient information ensuring confidentiality is maintained
- To exercise initiative and judgement when dealing with enquiries
- Take accurate messages related to patient prescriptions
- Photocopying, filing or scanning of medical information into notes or other data systems such as Clinical Portal
- Co-operate in the induction of new technology and new working practices to ensure the smooth running of the department
- To assist colleagues as directed by the Supervisor/Line Manager in times of pressure of work
