Lead our small UK QA team, part of a global test team

**Mission**:

**We are currently recruiting an experienced Lead QA / Software Tester, leading a small QA test team of 3 based in Chorley, which is part of our wider testing and QA team spread across Europe and Egypt. Although primarily a manual testing environment in the UK although there will be some automation testing working with the global teams.**
- Being the Lead Tester in a QA test team of 3
- Review and analyse system specifications
- Collaborate with QA Testers to develop effective strategies and test plans
- Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyse results
- Evaluate product code according to specifications
- Create logs to document testing phases and defects
- Report bugs and errors to development teams
- Help troubleshoot issues

**Profil**:
**Essential skills and experience**:

- An experienced Quality Assurance software tester with extensive manual testing skills and some automation experience
- Previous experience as a Lead QA Tester or as the most senior tester in a team
- Proven experience of training, mentoring and developing junior testers
- Ability to introduce new ideas and processes into the testing environment
- Hard working, ambitious and results driven with a high level of attention to detail.
- Someone with a “can do” attitude who can embrace the use of technology in a fast-growing industry.
- You want the opportunity to make an impact and are excited about the visibility your accomplishments will receive in a small, close-knit organisation
- You can quickly isolate the root cause of an issue when it arises, and provide a practical solution
- Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle

**The role is based in the companies brand new state-of-the-art Chorley office, right next to Buckshaw Parkway train station. It's a hybrid role which will require 3 days per week in the office, and more over the initial few months.**

Leyland is famous as once being the home of one of the largest vehicle manufacturers in the UK; British Leyland - probably best known for their trucks and buses. There are several retail parks and leisure centres, the town centre also has a thriving market along with a mix of independent and well known chain stores.
