**Job summary**:
The Ministry of Defence (MOD) employs over 50,000 Civil Servants. Within that, the Army employs around 9,000 MOD Civil Servants located at over 300 locations. Ours is a diverse workforce, with roles ranging from Trainers, Human Resources, Teachers, Psychologists to Storekeepers, Financiers, Project and Programme Managers, and Policy Secretariat staff, all working alongside and in partnership with our military colleagues.

This post sits within the Army’s Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) team, we are currently dedicated to the development and leadership of equality and diversity policies across the Army.

Which would all be led by the team, supported by Defence. By Improving data analysis, you would ensure investments are underpinned, targeted and efficient.

Supporting the work of the team, by providing expertise to enable analysis of trends, undertake gap analysis and assist in the design of future training interventions.

This post will be an ambitious, rewarding and an exciting C1 appointment Contributing to the work that the team undertakes to improve whole force cultures and working experience.

Working with the team to collate, advise, and exploit human science research findings, assessing and conducting relevant national and international Defence and academic research, to support Army D&I practices, policy development. Training and evaluation. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across Defence.

Even though this role will be unique within the team you will have the opportunity to work as part of a wider team of Occupational Psychologists in the Directorate of Personnel, whose primary roles involve developing, managing and delivering psychological research, advice and consultancy to support Army personnel policy and activities.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:
Providing Psychological research, advice, and mentorship to support the Army D&I team in the development of personnel policy and future training interventions.

You will provide foresight and reach across the chain of command to cohere and assure. A broad remit including:

- Data analysis

**Person specification**:

- Developing, leading, and delivering psychological research, advice, and consultancy to support evidence-based Army Personnel policy and activities.
- Collate, advise, and exploit human science research findings, assessing and conducting relevant national and international Defence and academic research, to support Army personnel practice, policy development and evaluation.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across Defence and internationally.
- Act as a project lead, or independent researcher, managing resources and conducting research activities such as survey design, statistical & qualitative analysis, interviews, focus groups, personal development interventions, lectures, workshops.
- Support/lead the various projects such as the Army Sexual Harassment Survey, Climate Assessments question set, the Army Culture Maturity Model, Lived Experience Study, and the Defence D&I Training needs analysis.
- Support in the review of the Army Values and Standards.
- Assurance of training and other interventions such as Climate Assessments
- The post holder will need to be skilled in critically evaluating the psychometric qualities of assessments with an awareness of the governance surrounding testing and data.
- Experience communicating with various collaborators regarding the use of psychometric assessments
- You must hold a MSc Occupational Psychology or similar equivalent qualification to enable accreditation.
- You will need to be a HCPC Registered Occupational Psychologist Practitioner
