The post will not have recognised educational approval, but will have similar supervision, study leave and annual leave as that of a recognised training post.
The ENT Department covers the whole of Gwent. Inpatient are undertaken in Grange University Hospital, day case and outpatients are provided at the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport. Outpatient Clinics are also held at Nevill Hall and Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr Hospitals in Gwent. The ENT Departments staffs 8 Consultants, 2 SAS, 4 Specialty Trainees, 3 Core Trainees, 1 FP2 and 2 Clinical Fellow CT level. The ENT rota is a 1:7
Excellent Postgraduate Medical facilities are available in a recently refurbished Postgraduate Centre.
The Board covers a key geographical area on the picturesque Welsh border, with Cardiff and Bristol within commuting distance and direct links by road and rail to major UK centres such as London, Birmingham and Manchester.
Gwent is situated between Gloucestershire to the east and Cardiff and the Wales valleys to the west, combining many of the attributes of neighbouring parts of England and Wales. The City of Newport is just 12 miles from Cardiff and close to the splendour of the Brecon Beacons and the Wye Valley. Bristol is within 30 minutes drive.
Free parking is available across all Aneurin Bevan University Health Board Sites.
