Job Summary

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is seeking a Deputy Ward Manager to join Newport Community Wards at the Royal Gwent Hospital. This band 6 role offers an exceptional opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver high-quality patient care. As a key member of the team, you will support senior staff in managing daily operations and provide leadership in the absence of the Ward Manager.

About the Role

You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based nursing care within a recovery-focused service. Additionally, you will contribute to the education and development of other staff members and undertake management responsibilities as needed.

Responsibilities

  • a) Support the senior staff with the running of Newport community wards on a shift-by-shift basis.
  • b) Undertake management responsibilities in the absence of the Ward Manager.
  • c) Demonstrate evidence-based clinical practice and be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • d) Act as a mentor with recognised mentor experience and a proven history of providing supervision to junior staff.

Salary and Benefits Package
