Business Development Manager

I am working with a retail supplier who are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their rapidly expanding team.
The purpose of the business development manager is to hunt new business opportunities, present a sales pitch and close deals in excess of £1million.
Day to day duties of a business development manager include:
- Use industry knowledge and contacts to create new business opportunities
- Secure new client orders in excess of £3 million per annum
- Proactively canvas prospective buyers through marketing campaigns, LinkedIn and cold calling to create opportunities that generate sales revenue
- Build and develop a broad LinkedIn network of target customers and create and share content that creates engagement with our audience
- Strategically manage pipeline and workload to ensure sales targets and KPIs are achieved
- Present pipeline and progress on a weekly basis to line manager summarising key opportunities and status updates
- Prepare and deliver high quality pitches and proposals to demonstrate the capabilities and expertise that result in confirmed sales
- Work closely with the NPD and Innovation department to create relevant products and concepts that are in line with our target customers trends and business objectives
- Build in depth knowledge and understanding of the market and customer demand and present this information back to key internal stakeholders
- Work closely with the Account/Project Management team to hand over confirmed sales and projects
- Manage a portfolio of accounts to increase account revenue and strategically pitch new products
Experience & skills required for the business development manager:
- 5+ years experience within a business development role
- Strong negotiation and objection handling skills
- Excellent communication
- Proficient in all MS office products
- Demonstratable experience generating new business opportunities from scratch
- Forward thinker
- Money hungry and eager to develop and learn
- Excellent organisation skills and work well under pressure
