**Background**:
Sunflowers Suicide Support is a rapidly growing charity dedicated to providing essential support to individuals affected by suicide. Founded in memory of Pete Morris, Sunflowers aligns its work with local and national suicide prevention strategies and best practices. In addition to its core mission, Sunflowers conducts intervention and awareness training and hosts various campaigns throughout the year to prevent suicide.

**Objective**:
At Sunflowers Suicide Support, we celebrate diversity and strive to create an inclusive environment where everyone's unique perspectives and experiences are valued. Sunflowers are seeking a dynamic and proactive Communications Officer to join our rapidly growing charity. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Communications Officer will play a crucial role in managing our communication channels, supporting the CEO and Board of Trustees, and contributing to the smooth operation of our organisation.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Website Management: Oversee and maintain the organisation's website and online platforms, ensuring content is up to date, engaging, and reflects our mission and values.
- Social Media Management: Manage and curate content for our social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Linked and Instagram. Foster inclusive engagement with our diverse audience, respond thoughtfully to inquiries, and cultivate a sense of belonging and community online.
- Secretarial Support: Provide comprehensive secretarial support to the CEO and Board of Trustees, including minuting meetings, sending agendas, and managing calendars, meetings, and attendance on training sessions.
- Document Preparation: Support the creation, formatting, proofreading, and printing of relevant documents, ensuring accuracy and professionalism.
- Press Releases and Newsletters: Develop and distribute press releases to relevant media outlets and stakeholders. Coordinate the creation and distribution of quarterly newsletters, ensuring representation and inclusivity of our diverse supporters and stakeholders.
- Ad hoc administration support: Assist the Senior Administrator with various administrative tasks as needed, contributing to the efficient functioning of the office.

**Person Profile**:

- Experience of managing social media platforms through Meta.
- Experience of updating websites on Wix.
- Self-motivated with a proactive work ethic.
- Excellent communication skills, with a commitment to clear and inclusive language.
- Proficient IT skills with evidenced use of Microsoft 365
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational abilities.
- Willing to offer flexibility in working hours as needed for Board meetings (generally monthly on a Tuesday evening).
- Previous secretarial experience is preferred.
