Job description

The Staff and Stakeholder Senior Engagement Senior Adviser will work with the Connecting People with Nature Programme. The Connecting People with Nature Programme focuses on delivering transformative change, aiming for everyone to be able to enjoy Nature’s benefits and act for the environment, wherever they live.

The postholder will take responsibility for stakeholder engagement across the programme. linking with the other strategic programmes and across the business. This will include shaping how our work with stakeholders and partners can support delivery of programme aims, intelligence sharing and event planning. The postholder will work closely with account managers at local and national level, coordinating the programme input into briefings for Directors, Executive Committee and the Board as required. There is scope to evolve new ways of working to help the programme and Natural England build new partnerships.

You will be able to develop coherent integrated messages from the programme, in a way that reflects the multifaceted delivery of Natural England for stakeholders. Working closely with colleagues and engagement advisers, you will ensure we are joined up and capitalising on opportunities to amplify our messages and delivery across our work.

Another key part of the role will be managing engagement with Natural England staff. This will involve maintaining a regular line of contact between the programme and delivery teams and ensuring the programme ambition and objectives are clear and well understood across the business, providing support and direction to teams undertaking engagement activity. Working with our communications business partners, this role will develop internal briefings and presentational material.

**Key tasks include**:

- Lead design and delivery of staff and stakeholder plan in support of programme aims
- Establish a strong profile for the programme internally and enable a good flow of intelligence and feedback across the business, including planning and delivering internal engagement opportunities alongside our Defra communications business partner.
- Work with other teams, including External Affairs, Private Office and account managers to establish how programme level engagement will complement and build on existing relationships.
- Horizon scanning to develop a programme of external engagement for the programme.
- Extend our reach to work with new sectors to help Natural England’s Nature Recovery Mission.
- Co-ordinate and project manage effective campaigns to the right audiences.
- Plan and deliver virtual and face-to-face events to support and amplify Natural England’s vision and mission.
