**Overview of role**
- Advising and supporting the Deputy Mayor for Transport (also the Deputy Chair of TfL) on work across GLA and TfL.
- Streamlining engagement with stakeholders, including Government, between the Deputy Mayor’s Office, the Commissioner’s Office, and MDs and Directors across TfL,
- Support to the Mayor’s Office on strategic communications regarding transport issues of political interest, including ensuring that external communications are joined up across stakeholder, media, and wider communications / handling plans
- Working closely with the Mayor’s Policy and Delivery Unit to oversee the delivery of the Mayor’s manifesto and other priorities
- Joining up work relevant to transport issues between GLA and TfL, including issues with a transport and environment overlap
- The role is jointly sponsored between TfL and the GLA and designed to support the effectiveness of both organisations.
**Key Accountabilities**
- Direct day-to-day corporate affairs support for the Deputy Mayor and the Mayor's Walking & Cycling Commissioner
- Advising the Deputy Mayor on strategic communications, including speeches, core scripts, public appearances, evidence to public committees, media, and engagement with key stakeholders, and regularly liaising with the Mayor’s Office on this
- Wider support to the Assistant Director for Transport, Infrastructure, Connectivity and Air Quality and Head of Transport on briefing for the Deputy Mayor and liaison with the Mayor’s Private Office
- Liaising with TfL and GLA Government Relations, TfL Corporate Affairs, GLA Transport Team, the Mayor’s Office, and other relevant GLA policy teams to support achievement of the Mayor’s lobbying priorities, particularly around set-piece engagement such as Budget / Spending Review / National Infrastructure Strategy
- Promoting and maintaining effective working relationships between TfL and the Mayor's Office including by working closely with the Mayor’s Policy and Delivery Unit

Experience
- A record of success in providing leadership in the development and implementation of programmes that contribute to delivery of key plans such as manifesto delivery
- Extensive experience of working in a complex organisation at a senior level with a proven track record of critical decision making
- Proven track record of collaborative working and building strong relationships, role modelling behaviours, negotiating and influencing effectively to achieve business goals
