**Job description**

Natural England delivers Catchment Sensitive Farming (CSF) in partnership with Defra and the Environment Agency as a part of Natural England’s Farm Advice. CSF delivers through a network of CSF farm advisers and local partners in each priority catchment. CSF helps deliver Defra’s 25-year plan for water quality, air quality (ammonia) and natural flood management. We make a significant contribution to nature recovery through helping farmers to take positive environmental action on-farm.

The next few years will see significant changes to the support and schemes available to farmers. Associated with these changes will be improvements to Natural England’s farm advice. This role will evolve in tandem with these changes.

**The role of the Customer Engagement Lead Adviser is to**:
Deliver CSF communications plans by supporting the Senior Adviser and enabling the Adviser by working together with key partners: Natural England, Defra and Environment Agency, staff, stakeholders and farmers to improve water, air quality and flood mitigation across England.

The Lead Adviser will lead and develop new campaign plans and delivery to support programme aims by leading on the following tasks:

- Provide support to the CSF Customer Engagement Senior Adviser in the development and delivery of the CSF Communications Strategy and annual plans.
- Provide communication support across the CSF programme, to ensure consistency of message and brand.
- Research and develop (a/the) national agricultural show proposal, communication plan and support show leads throughout the year.
- Plan, develop, deliver and evaluate communication campaigns with staff, partners, stakeholders and customers using both traditional and digital channels. Particular emphasis for this role will be to:

- Develop national and regional campaigns and comms tools to meet CSF ambition and targets including new events, promotional materials and publications / reports.
- Enable and support training and comms support packages for the developing CSF Local Communication Network.
- Actively engage with partners in Defra, Environment Agency, Rural Payments Agency and Natural England to identify opportunities for sharing content and amplifying CSF brand where aims, objectives and audiences align.
- Functional management of CSF Customer Engagement Adviser.
- Support and feed into team delivery including the weekly staff ealert, CSF InBrief and programme webinars with the Customer Engagement Adviser.
- Develop strong links with colleagues and partners across the CSF programme to deliver campaigns.
- Positively challenge and seek to improve and introduce new ways of working to improve efficiencies and performance across the team/s and partnership.
- Continuously engage and support team and team members to improve overall team’s performance and well-being.
