**Job description**:
As part of the UK Maritime Services (UKMS) Directorate Business Unit you will provide support across a wide range of tasks, including a secretariat service to the Director of UK Maritime Services and the wider team to help them meet critical business requirements.

The Business Unit supports business planning, financial & resource management, risk management and the business of UKMS meetings, including Management Board meetings.

This is an exciting role which will give you experience of different strands of administrative services, from business support to finance to business planning, allowing for a varied and interesting role.

This role will be based in the Southampton HQ. MCA supports flexible working and operates a hybrid working model between home and office for this role, giving you greater flexibility over where and when you work. Details of the arrangement will be discussed further with your line manager.

**_ Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: _**
- Providing support to the Director of UK Maritime Services, which includes proactive diary management and arranging meetings with best utilisation of time.
- Compile and keep updated monitoring spreadsheets for expenditure within the Business Unit
- Proactively collate statistics from Marine Offices and other teams within the Directorate to assist in the production of monthly performance reports.

**About You**

You will be highly organised to prioritise your work efficiently with the versatility to multi task. You can be adaptable, recognising changing priorities reacting to them to effectively plan and organise workloads accordingly.

You will have strong oral and written communication skills and have the ability to confidently approach and work with staff at any seniority level, knowing when discretion is essential as you will have access to sensitive material.

Demonstrable knowledge and experience in the use of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and Outlook is required for this role.
