**HR Officer**

St James Veterinary Group are looking for a HR Officer to join their team, this is an exciting opportunity for a Part Time HR professional to join our friendly and hard-working team.

**Role purpose**:
The HR Officer will be the go-to person for employee-related issues. Your HR duties will involve assisting with absence management, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training & development within company.

The job of HR Officer is important to the success of St James. Our employees are our most important asset, and your role will be key to ensuring we have a happy and productive workplace.

Reporting to the HR Manager your main duties will be to assist with the following:

- HR support and guidance for the 6 branches.
- Support line managers with disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance management cases and ensure all paperwork is completed within a reasonable timeframe and within the required legal framework
- Create, maintain, and organise employee files.
- Carry out file audits.
- Collate right to work information.
- Assist with recruitment process, by interviewing, sending out offer letters, contracts and reference requests.
- Assist with onboarding processes
- Inform payroll of any changes that may impact pay.
- Update HR database with personal details working patterns, holiday entitlement, new starters and leavers.
- Respond to holiday queries.
- Create accurate minutes from meetings.
- Have welfare check in meetings with staff. Signpost employees to the employee assistance program.
- Assist with organising staff events/ training.
- Other administrative duties as required.
- CIPD qualification or willingness to work towards
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times
- The ability to encourage and develop people to achieve their full potential
- Effective people management, team working, and ability to build good relationships
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
- Excellent standards of written and verbal communication skills

Part-time hours: 15-20 hours per week

We have carried out detailed risk assessments, provide PPE and have installed screens for client facing staff where possible.
