We are seeking a highly motivated, engaged and customer focused Head of Mining Sales to join the Australia Management team for this key position growing the Mining Business in Australia.
This position is responsible for securing the year on year profitable growth in revenue and market share (Aftermarket) for the Australian Regions Mining business through sales of FLSmidth products and services.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the overall mining sales, proposals and product line management teams across the region.
- Create and implement the sales growth strategies in the region for Aftermarket with all the relevant internal and external stakeholders to secure profitable year on year growth.
- Enhance market share by identifying white spots and the activities/products/actions needed to exploit these in collaboration/conjunction with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate and work across regional boundaries to support and develop sales strategies, multi region customers/key accounts and opportunities to secure profitable sales for the greater FLSmidth business.
- Actively promote, market and present all FLSmidth (mining) offerings, successes and case studies to customers, industry groups & academia.
- Personally drive sales, with extensive customer interactions (Capital and Aftermarket) to understand customer needs, create growth strategies and provide customer orientated solutions.
- Transform opportunities to meaningful sales concepts with the help of (G)PLM, R&D, Engineering, Service Execution & Procurement teams.
- Leverage the global FLSmidth business to deliver best in class customer solutions.
- Continuous improvement of the sales, proposal and product line management teams to improve collaboration, innovation, and operation performance.
- Actively manage & be the role model for a team of sales professionals to build strong relationships with our customers, create winning, value added solutions that our customer need, and meet defined sales targets.
- Actively manage & be the role model for a team of Product Line Managers who, in conjunction with Global Product Management, own the commercial and technical growth of their product in the region.
- Actively manage & be the role model for the Proposals and Estimations team to provide timely, targeted and tailored proposals that highlight the value proposition and deliverables FLSmidth will provide, complementing the work completed by Sales and Product Line ,Management teams to secure the sale.
- Select high performing team members with strong capabilities to build and secure an effective sales organization.
- Assess and improve the performance of direct reports through performance and development reviews and design individual development programs to support their growth and development.
- Support innovation and agility and drive collaboration across regional teams and within the greater FLS organisation.
- Ensure adherence to FLSmidth’s safety policy and compliance.
- Drive efficiency through review of performance KPIs, stringent internal targets and continuous improvement of systems, processes and ways of working.
What you bring:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering/demonstrated experience in Engineering across the mining industry
- Post Grad qualification in Management is desirable
- Detailed knowledge mining and minerals processing technology
- Detailed knowledge of customers in Australia region
- Extensive customer contacts & networks within Australia
- Knowledge of FLSmidth products and organisation is desirable
- Proven track record in a leadership role
- A minimum of 15 years’ experience in the mining industry
- Frontline sales experience preferred
- A strong network within the Australian mining & minerals processing industry including institutions & academia
