As part of the BFS Group Risk team, the **Compliance Officer** role is responsible for BFS’ governance structure and ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements. The role will act as the bridge between global and local requirements, working collaboratively with local representatives and have oversight globally to ensure compliance. Supporting the Head of Governance, Risk and Compliance, they will have responsibility for our enterprise wide risk assessments, BFS compliance policies, training and key governance and compliance processes.

**Your responsibilities as our Compliance Officer will include**:

- Ongoing development of our governance framework and oversight. Working closely with representatives from each operating business and CoSec to ensure that our company secretarial requirements are met.
- Group AML/CFT Compliance Officer
- Responsible for maintaining the enterprise wide risk assessments (inc. financial crime and fraud risk). Working with representatives from each operating business to ensure that updates are cascaded and local impact considered. Responsibility for ensuring that each business maintains their local financial crime risk assessments.
- Responsible for ensuring that BFS has a suite of up to date BFS compliance policies and that these are reviewed annually and updated for material changes.
- Administrator of the BFS policy portal, ensuring that all businesses are utilising the portal effectively.
- Supporting our Learning and Development (L&D) team with compliance training requirements, ensuring that we have a compliance training programme that is up to date and effective.
- Working with our In-House Counsel on horizon scanning and in particular on Brexit related amendments to legislation. Assessing the potential impact to BFS and where applicable, leading projects to ensure compliance.

**What we are looking for in our ideal Compliance Officer**:

- Legislative and regulatory compliance experience
- Financial services experience
- Knowledge of relevant legislation for an international financial services organisation, such as Money Laundering, Anti-Bribery, Modern Slavery and Data Protection. Good working knowledge of the UK legislation as this forms the base requirements for our businesses.
