About the role:
The BA Practice Lead is responsible for leading and building the regional chapter of a global business analysis community of practice; continuously improving practice frameworks, processes, and toolsets; aligning and integrating with other Global IT practices and Teams and working closely with all practice members to ensure a consistently high level of business analysis across the global organisation.

Leading with a collaborative and partnership approach, this role contributes at both a hands-on and strategic level to ensure that the business outcomes are realised, and the global IT strategy is implemented.

Our global IT team is experiencing an exciting evolution as we look to better serve our customers today and in the future through expanded digital options and upgraded systems across the organisation. **Define and represent the Business Analysis Practice (EMEA) by doing the following**:

- Establish and communicate expected BA practices, aligning the delivery of business analysis at City with current market best practice.
- Govern the adoption of best practice across BA engagements; actively supporting line managers where exceptions are identified, (using a combination of coaching & influencing skills).
- Lead the capability within the organisation, seeking out opportunities to recognise & celebrate examples of excellent practice.
- Own templates & content pertaining to BA activities, taking accountability for their accuracy, relevance & quality, to ensure the content repository remains up to date.
- Act as a first point of contact for queries relating to the expectation of business analysis, providing consistent messaging across regionally distributed teams.
- Promote and educate IT and business colleagues on the value and benefits that the Business Analysis field brings to City.

**Lead & develop the BA capability by**:

- Assess BA skill and competency within the community and devise a training plan to address recognised gaps, considering both internal & external upskilling options.
- Own the definition of BA roles, setting clear expectations around relative competency & skill within each role. Work closely with line managers in support of a transparent appraisal process, consulting on professional development opportunities.
- Induct new people into the BA Practice and ways of working.
- Establish a maturity model for the BA capability, communicating the future value of continued development. Use this tool to build advocacy for continued development, and to set shared goals for the BA community to progress.
- Agree performance measures for the BA Practice, monitoring regularly using feedback loops to ensure continuous improvement and objective assessment of progress.

**Drive collaboration & continuous improvement**:

- Lead an empowered & ambitious Practice of skilled BAs, using a coaching style that advocates personal agency in their professional development.
- Encourage members to own the improvement of their BA practice, advocating an experimental and growth mindset.
- Work closely with IT leadership and other Practice Leads to ensure the BA Practice is integrated with the Global ways of working and positively supports the benefits of a global operating model.
- Build a supportive BA community, encouraging cross team collaboration, peer reviews and facilitation opportunities to leverage the diversity of experiences.

**Essential Experience**:

- Extensive experience as a practitioner in the relevant practice, including strong analysis and problem-solving skills, process improvement & stakeholder management.
- Proven ability to effectively coach, collaborate with and advise individuals and teams.
- Proven leadership skills, influencing decision making across teams with no management authority. A passionate professional, with ability to motivate and inspire teams with a collaborative mindset.
