**About the Job**
We require a Business Support Team Leader to be an integral part of a LEAN Business Support team that delivers a fast-paced, multi-functional administrational service across Peoples Ageing and Living Well Adults Services, within a matrix-management organisational structure. This role will report into the Deputy Head of Business Management. The role requires working remotely by default, with the requirement to work from different locations across the borough when necessary. Our main offices are based in central Romford.
The primary purpose of the post is to lead a team of Business Support Officers providing administrational support to the Ageing Well and Living Well Adults operational services, including the Safeguarding Team, Community Teams, Community Learning and Disabilities Teams, Havering Access Team, Complaints Team, and Financial Assessments and Benefits Team.
This is a full time position working as part of a small team within the Business Management Service Area.
The main objectives of the Business Support Team Leader post are to:
- Provide strong leadership to the Business Support Team and to contribute to the strategic direction of the service through a solution focused approach.
- To line manage up to 19 staff either directly or via the matrix management model.
- To contribute to the overall business support strategy whilst developing the employees skill base through continuous learning and development programs.
- To successfully manage both task and line management responsibility across functions to ensure an optimum service is delivered.
- Ensure key functions are covered off by the resources within the team. Oversee specific tasks within the Business Support Hub ensuring that quality standards are met.
- To manage the business support for senior managers including the Heads of Service.
- Lead and/or support projects and key initiatives within the service area of the Business Support Team.
- Produce financial forecasts related to staffing costs.
- To lead effective resource allocation so that Business Support staff are allocated to ‘best fit’ tasks wherever possible.
- Lead the delivery of a fast-paced, matrix management environment service.
- Build a pro-active positive team culture which includes maintaining positive working relationships with Service Managers and understanding the requirements of Peoples Ageing and Living Well Adults Services.
The post holder has responsibility for both line and task management of a team of Business Support Officers carrying out administrational duties across the various adult operational service’s teams. The team adopt a matrix management approach and working closely with various Business Management and Operational Service Area Managers is essential to maintain good working standards and meet the service user needs.
**About You**
You will be a solution focused individual with a skill set to lead and manage the delivery of fast-paced administrative support, working collaboratively within a business support matrix-management structure, across various service areas.
Whilst a background in Adults Social Care is not essential, you will be expected to quickly build up an understanding of the requirements of Business Support across Peoples Ageing and Living Well Adults Service
Operational management experience within a public sector organisation is desirable but not essential.
