**Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant**

**Location: M34**

**Pay Rates: £70 - £85 a day**

**Shift Patterns: Monday to Friday**

Core Teachers are working with a lovely primary school in the M34 area who are looking for a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a small school that makes a huge impact on the children there, ensuring each child has flourished into the best version of themselves before transitioning to high school. Staff go above and beyond to celebrate individuality and difference, ensuring that everybody feels safe and happy.

There is a high value placed on teaching children to manage their emotions and how to look after their mental health. School promotes children’s confidence empowering them to voice their opinions.

**SEN Teaching Assistant responsibilities**:

- To work on a 1:1 basis with an SEN child, directed by the class teacher and/or SENCo, to support in all areas of learning
- To establish a supportive, caring and secure relationship with the child, promoting respect, self-esteem and a positive, inclusive whole school ethos
- To develop knowledge and understanding of the specific academic, emotional an behavioural needs of the child and respond to them effectively
- To help, support and motivate the child, clarifying instructions, encouraging independent learning and behaviour, enabling learning targets and outcomes to be achieved
- To contribute to monitoring and recording pupil progress, maintaining records and providing relevant feedback to teachers
- To provide wellbeing support to the child ensuring needs are met throughout the day

This role is Monday to Friday. The position is on a long-term basis with the chance to move onto a school contract. Start date ASAP.
