Head of Communications - Band 8B**:
We are searching for an experienced, innovative and passionate Head of Communications, Engagement and Experience, who will play a key role leading the operational delivery of Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust SPH and the North West Surrey Health and Care Alliance communications, engagement and experience function.

Working across organisations, with our communities, system partners and other key stakeholders to provide communications and engagement leadership and support for key programmes and initiatives. You will be a natural ambassador for ASPH and the Alliance and be able to build strong relationships with all internal and external partners.

The post holders will lead and manage an effective and efficient Communications, Engagement and Experience (CEE) function for Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (ASPH) and the NW Surrey Health and Care Alliance. This includes:

- Directly managing the day-to-day CEE function for ASPH and the Alliance with line management responsibility.
- Responsibility for external communications - media management, crisis communications, corporate publications, website, social and digital media, stakeholder and community engagement

Responsibility for internal communications - staff communication channels such as campaigns, Intranet and patient information

The post holder will inspire confidence and trust through their professional and personal capabilities and conduct, and develop proactive relationships with a broad range of key stakeholders. As senior representatives of the Alliance/ASPH team, in a high profile roles, it will be essential that all relationships epitomise the values of the organisations. Key working relationships will include:
**Internal**
Clinicians, nurses, clinical and non-clinical directors, management and administrative teams, researchers and academics, safeguarding teams, legal and FOI team, Fundraising, Membership and Patient Experience teams, communications, engagement and experience team, Executive, Non-Executive and senior management teams.

**External**
ASPH/Alliance patients, residents and their families, journalists, photographers, filmmakers, representatives from other NHS Trusts, other academic and research institutions, medical journals, local authorities, regional and national NHS England teams NHS England, Department of Health, and other external stakeholders - patient representatives, charities and campaigning organisations.

The post holders will lead CEE across ASPH and the Alliance and help shape delivery of the Vison, Mission and Aims of the Trust/Alliance and promote its presence, good reputation, and standing at local, regional and national levels.

They will have strategic oversight and responsibility for the development and delivery of all corporate ASPH/Alliance communications, working closely with the Director of Communications, Engagement and Experience, Place Leader, Chief Executive, Chair, Executive Directors, other members of the CEE team, senior managers and teams across the Trust and Alliance partnership.

They will ensure that all of our communications and engagement reflect the Alliance/ASPH strategic aims, are consistent with our brands and reflect positively on our reputations.

They will also ensure that developments in the communications and engagement function are aligned to Alliance’s/ASPH’s business needs and priorities
- Lead the implementation and management of a comprehensive communications, engagement and experience strategy for ASPH and the Alliance working closely with the Director of Communications, Engagement and Experience which incorporates business as usual and core project activity.
- Lead the development of and manage project based communications and engagement plans across ASPH and the Alliance as required.
- Develop and lead programmes of proactive communications and engagement taking full advantage of all media tools and channels - event, print, broadcast and digital.
