We are recruiting a Grants and Foundations Officer to help raise funds to allow us to continue carrying out our valuable work. We are seeking someone who feels empathy with our cause and has good people skills to work sensitively with those who have been bereaved by Covid-19.

Since forming at the start of the pandemic, Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice has grown to an organisation of nearly 7,000 bereaved people, secured the Covid inquiry, created the Covid Memorial Wall and played a major role in influencing that inquiry and ultimately public health policy.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a national, high profile organisation campaigning to ensure that lessons are learnt from the horrors of the pandemic, and that the mistakes that were made in Government are never repeated in the future.

This role would be part time, meaning you would work for two days a week. The contract would be for 12 months with the possibility of an extension at the end of it.

The campaign is currently funded by two organisations with additional money raised via Crowdfunding. Your aim would be to increase the number of grants and donors we have, whilst also supporting with our Crowdfunding campaigns when needed.

The role will require some flexibility including working in the evenings and at weekends when necessary and will be home based and therefore full remote.

**ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

Secure major grants from trusts, foundations, and other organisations for our work.
Work towards creating/managing a small portfolio of trusts, foundations and other grant making bodies.
Act as the point of contact for our grant holder and funders

**ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**

Successful track record of securing funding from Trusts and Foundations.
Demonstrable ability to plan, prioritise and work proactively under own initiative.
Strong communication skills (verbal, written, listening), with demonstrable experience of writing compelling proposals and presentations.
Extensive experience working across all aspects of Trust and Foundation fundraising.
Other fundraising experience an advantage
Personal belief in and commitment to the aims of Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice UK
