The post holder will provide a high level of administrative support to the Breast Imaging Department. There is a requirement to exchange verbal and written information with patients, staff and carers, requiring tact and diplomacy. The post-holder would create appointments and monitor pathways accordingly from referral to results. They would work closely with the Junior Operational Service Manager, MDT Co-ordinators, and using their knowledge and experience support the Band 2 Admin Team. There is a rotation of tasks specific for the role to ensure all aspects of the role are covered in times of annual leave or sickness.

The post holder will be expected to work at County Hospital and Royal Stoke Hospital.

The Breast Imaging Department is within the Imaging Directorate in University Hospital of North Midlands.

The Department is responsible for providing the North Midlands Breast Screening Service in accordance with the National Breast Screening Programme.

The Department is also responsible for the Breast Symptomatic Service including supporting the 2ww symptomatic clinics, and all Breast Intervention, and further surveillance clinics.

**The post holder will be required to**:
Provide a comprehensive efficient and effective administrative service in the scheduling of appointments, and to contact patients by phone to offer appointments at short notice.

Support the MDT process as required.

Use the North Midlands Breast Screening Programme to enter and update accurate data held on the National Breast Screening Computer system and run reports on the system as required.

Be responsible to support the Trust targets for Cancer and Referral to Treatment.

Adhere to the Trust Access Policy and Standard Operating Procedures.

Provide support with the Very High Risk Family History Programme, Interval Cancer Programme and Surveillance Programme.

Monitor results and process results letters in a timely manner.

The post holder will provide a comprehensive, efficient and effective administrative service in the scheduling of appointments ensuring that local and national waiting time targets are achieved.

Making appointments over the phone at short notice with a sensitive and caring approach, they will deal with all enquiries in a courteous and professional manner, in order to contribute to the delivery of a first class service to all users.

The post holder will rotate with colleagues to ensure all necessary tasks are covered. They will communicate with the Junior Operational Service Manager on a daily basis, and support the Office Manager as required.

The post holder will assist in the provision of statistical and analytical data, ensuring accuracy at all times. As part of the administrative support structure, the post-holder is responsible for adhering to the Trust’s Access Policy and Standard Operating Procedures.

It will be necessary to rotate working duties at various sites including County Hospital and Royal Stoke Hospital.
